I heard that in 2-3 years ill be realeased gw 2, that mean the actual game servers ill be closed? Many "corporations" have done that but i think Anet is a fair one, not like EA, but like Blizzard, wich still keep old game servers
And i dont see the point of a new gw yet, especially cuz that ill broke the actual game...

1: When Guild Wars II is published, the servers for GW1 will remain in operation. As a matter of fact, the company has not yet decided on the fate of GW additional content, so we might yet get more expansions and similar.

2: Eventually, servers for Guild wars 1 will close. However, noone has nay idea when. Maybe only when enthropy claims the last energy needed to power them

Ever heard of a game called Diablo? It still has servers running so you can play... figgure GW1 to be pretty much the same deal.

Yeah, I've thought about this also, or maybe after a while I was afraid that they would start to charge -- eek, my phear lol, but they have shown that they don't like subscription fee so that makes them the best!

Well...maybe GW will go through a huge update to keep up with other games in the future like 50000000 million polygon characters with armor so shiny you can see your reflection, and ever the water in Lion's Arch will splash up onto the beach, maybe even surfing! Or maybe make the whole map explorable, being able to rent (or buy) a fishing boat in tyria and go out onto the lake and travel

If the servers ever go down (for more than a week/month) then I'm sure someone would volunteer to host the servers -- but hey that won't be for what? 50 years?

Anet is most likely going to keep GW1 running. If they do not many people will be dissapointed. I don't know about a lot of you, but I always like to go back and play the original of some games every once in a while.

All it takes is one well-placed solar flare and you won't even have a computer to play on...you might be able to use it as a boat anchor while "actually" fishing as you will have to feed yourself somehow...My advice: take up gardening and start raising chickens.<--- Some folks look at the bright side...I like to look at the shadowy underbelly for the worst possible outcome. Then laugh later while eating chicken and others hang themselves with their mouse cords (those with cordless mice will be like Burgess Merideth in that old Twilight Zone episode...but I digress)....*ahem* don't worry about the apocolypse until you see the Ho of Babylon...and when you see my x-wife, tell her I said "hello".

Which game has closed original once sequel has been released?

AC - still here, sequel died.
Diablo - still here, WoW going strong
Everquest - still here, so is EQ2

Which MMO that released closed the first version, once they released the sequel?

there will still be lots of people who will stick with gw after gw2 comes out for whatever reason (esp if you cant bring your precious characters with you----you can always then come back and go to the fow or uw, run someone to dorks.....).
dont think we should be worried about something that is years away at this moment.....yes the chapters are coming to an end, but I find it a relief that I will finally be able to finish something with a character! (or all 17 of mine).
